James R. Vinci, S.E., worked through his education with Harris Engineering, one of the most well respected engineers in Ventura County, gaining invaluable experience in the efficient and thorough design of wood-framed structures.

Following graduation, James joined Brandow & Johnston Associates. From the start, James gained experience in Education projects, working on the new $90 million Lynwood High School, as well as gaining a vast experience in Tilt-Up, Concrete Block, and Structural Steel projects. In addition to new construction, James gained valuable experience in evaluation, retrofit and repair projects following the 1994 Northridge Earthquake.

In 1996, James joined forces with Robert Powell, P.E.- a renowned wood construction expert, to assist in running a Los Angeles Office for Burkett & Wong. During that time James continued to expand his experience in a variety of projects.

In March of 2000, James began Vinci & Associates in Westlake Village, California, seeing the firms diversity of projects expand quickly. Vinci & Associates has been involved in the structural design and consultation of commercial industrial and office projects, multi-family residential and single-family residential projects, public works projects, as well as unique projects such as theme park elements and Public Library buildings.
